What Is a Medication Reminder?

A medication reminder is a simple recurring timer that counts down to your next dose and chimes when it is time to take your medicine. You set a dose interval — say every 8 hours — and the timer counts down in H:MM:SS. When it reaches zero it sounds a gentle chime, then restarts automatically for the next interval, so a steady schedule keeps running all day and you never miss a dose. Each time the timer completes it adds one to your "Doses today" count so you can see at a glance how many doses you have taken.

Important - please read: This is a simple reminder tool, not medical advice. Always follow the schedule and dose written on your prescription and the instructions from your doctor or pharmacist. If they say something different from this timer, follow them, not the timer. This reminder only works while this page is open in your browser — if you close the tab, lock your phone, or the device goes to sleep, the countdown stops and no chime will sound. For anything you cannot afford to miss, use a dedicated alarm or medication app as well.

Set Your Dose Interval

Pick how often you need to take your medication. The presets cover the most common schedules — every 4, 6, 8 or 12 hours — and the custom fields let you dial in any interval down to the minute. Whatever you choose, the timer counts down to your next dose and then repeats on the same interval until you pause or reset it.

A Reminder for Caregivers and the Elderly

Keeping track of doses gets harder when several medicines are involved or when memory is not what it used to be. A recurring reminder helps a caregiver looking after a parent or relative, and it helps anyone on a regular schedule stay on track through a busy day. Leave the timer running on a phone, tablet or a spare screen near where the medicine is kept, and the chime becomes a shared cue that it is time for the next dose. The "Doses today" count gives a caregiver a quick check on how many doses have already been given.
