A Timer That Beeps Every Minute
Most timers do one thing: count down once and stop. This one does the opposite — it keeps running and marks every interval with a beep. Set it to beep every minute, every 30 seconds, every 15 minutes, or any interval you type in, press start, and leave it. The clock keeps counting up so you can see total elapsed time, and the counter tracks how many beeps have sounded.
An Interval Alarm for Training
The most common reason people want an alarm every minute is training. A fixed audible cue lets you keep your eyes off a screen and your attention on the work — which is exactly what interval methods are built around:
- Circuit training - one beep per station, rotate on the sound, no one calling time
- Fartlek running - the Swedish "speed play" method alternates hard and easy stretches; a beep every minute or two marks each switch without needing a track
- EMOM work - every minute on the minute, start the next set on the beep
- Weight training - a consistent cue so rest between sets doesn't quietly stretch out
- Beep-test style shuttle runs - a fixed cadence to run to
- Stretching and mobility - hold, beep, switch sides, beep
Away from the Gym
- Pacing repetitive work - a steady rhythm without watching a clock
- Posture and movement breaks - a nudge every 20 or 30 minutes to stand up
- Water or medication reminders - a regular audible prompt through the day
- Classroom rotations - move groups on every beep
- Cooking - stir or turn something at a fixed interval
- Breathing and meditation - a soft marker at a set cadence
How to Use It
- Pick an interval - tap a preset, or type minutes and seconds for something custom
- Choose when to stop - keep going indefinitely, or stop after a set number of beeps
- Press Start - the first beep comes at the end of the first interval, not immediately
- Leave it running - the elapsed clock and beep counter keep track for you
How It Differs from a Repeat Timer
A repeat timer runs a countdown, finishes, and starts the same countdown again — each cycle is a separate stretch of time. This beeps during one continuous session, so the clock never resets and you always see total elapsed time. If you want work and rest periods of different lengths instead, the interval timer handles that.
Will It Keep Beeping in the Background?
It keeps running while the tab is open, including when the window is behind another one. Browsers throttle timers in backgrounded tabs, so the beep can drift by a second or two — this page corrects for that by scheduling against the real clock rather than counting ticks. For reliable alerts with the screen off, a phone app is the better tool.
