What Is a Virtual Timer?
A virtual timer is an online countdown that keeps running even when you close the tab, switch apps, or shut your laptop. Set a time, press start, and walk away - when you come back to this page in the same browser, the timer has kept counting in real time and simply picks up where it should be. If it finished while you were gone, it tells you how long ago. No account, no app, nothing to install.
How the "Keeps Running" Part Works
When you start the timer, we save the exact moment it should finish in your browser. That means real time keeps passing whether the page is open or not:
- Come back mid-countdown - it resumes automatically with the correct time left.
- Come back after it ended - it shows "finished X minutes ago" and sounds the alarm.
- Pause before you leave - it stays paused and waits for you, no time lost.
