Timer videos vs. an interactive timer
A timer video is a countdown you press play on and leave running — many come with calming music, lo-fi beats, or nature sounds, which makes them a favorite for study sessions, focus blocks, and winding down before sleep. Because it's a video, you can cast it to a TV, loop it, or keep it playing in a background tab.
If you'd rather set an exact time and hear an alarm, use one of our interactive timers instead — they run in your browser, go full screen, and let you type any duration. Try the visual timer, a 25 minute timer for a focus sprint, or a Pomodoro timer for work-and-break cycles.
With music or with an alarm
Timer videos come in two flavors. Some pair the countdown with relaxing background music or lo-fi beats — a favorite for study sessions, focus blocks, and winding down before sleep. Others, like the visual timers above, run silently and simply sound a clear alarm at the end, which is ideal for classrooms and tests where music would be a distraction. Popular lengths run from a quick 5 or 10 minute timer up to 20 and 30 minute study sessions and hour-long deep-work blocks.
