About the Sun Timer

Watch a sun travel across the sky from horizon to horizon as time passes. The sky cycles through pre-dawn purple, dawn pink, bright midday blue, golden afternoon, dusk orange, and finally night — driven entirely by how much time is left. A naturalistic, calming way to track progress without staring at numbers.

How It Works

At the start the sun is just rising on the left edge of the screen, the sky is deep pre-dawn. As the timer counts down the sun arcs upward, peaks at the midpoint of your timer, then descends toward the right horizon. When time runs out it sets into the ground and the sky reaches night.

FAQ

What does the sun timer look like at the midpoint?

At exactly half-time the sun is directly overhead at the peak of its arc and the sky is brightest. From there the sky shifts toward dusk and the sun descends to the right horizon.

Does it work on long durations like an hour?

Yes. The full day-cycle stretches to fit whatever duration you pick — 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or a custom time.

Is the sun timer free?

Yes — completely free, no signup. Works on any modern browser, desktop or mobile.

Can I use it in fullscreen?

Yes. Tap the Fullscreen button below the canvas; press Esc to exit.
